If you are tackling your own camper van conversion or at least some elements of it, you will of course need a good set of tools!

Getting yourself a toolbox relevant to converting a van is quite simple and can be achieved in just a few power tools and a couple of hand tools. Aside from the obvious necessities, we hope to pass on some of our experiences with certain specialist tools that could make your van conversion a lot easier.

RYOBI CAULKING GUN

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say right off the bat, if you are installing bonded windows, you need this tool. Not only will it make your life TEN TIMES EASIER you will get a better finish to your job. Less chance of leaks, less chance of mess, less chance of....I'm not joking...injuring yourself!

Window bonding, although not impossible to apply with a hand held gun, is very thick stuff! Not only will you fatigue your hands, wrists and forearm, you may not be able to apply a consistant and even bead of mastic all the way around the join, therefore possibly resulting in dreaded leaks...and nobody wants a leak!

There are different battery powered caulking guns on the market but the Ryobi is by far the cheapest, at least at the time writing this.

Save yourself a lot of hassle and just buy this, trust me!

The Badaptor Makita to Ryobi battery adapter

Personally, I think it should be called the "Goodaptor" because it isn't bad at all! Using this adapter, you are able to use your normal batteries from your other power tools with the Ryobi caulk gun, thus avoiding the need to buy a battery and charger, genius!

Since most of our battery power tools are Makita, I can vouch for this adapter, the gun worked perfectly but if your particular brand of tools are different, give google a quick search for your required adapter!
